Job Title: Engineer Specialist Job Type: Contract (43 weeks, 40 hours per week) Salary: Up to £25 per hour Location: Multiple Location Consultant: Alex Townsend Reference: 28983 The Organisation: The client is the largest automotive manufacturing business in the United Kingdom which produces premium all-terrain vehicles and premier luxury sports saloon vehicles. All the cars are engineered in the UK and the client has large ambitions for growth. The Role: A research Engineer responsible for the identification and development of new thermal system technologies. The Engineer will be resonsible for monitoring future thermal system technologies developing and leading new thermal system research projects in conjunction with the JLR cooling and base engine teams and identifying suitable external partners to assist in completing this work. The successful applicant will join a growing team of motivated and enthusiastic powertrain systems research Engineers.

Experience And Skills

Skills Required: "- Highly motivated with excellent team working skills and able to deliver with minimum supervision - Good understanding of vehicle thermal system technology (heat dissipation, thermal control & hydraulic), design considerations and manufacturing / process requirements - Matlab Simulink experience - Understanding of thermal systems Engineering requirements - Ability to screen new technologies and innovatively apply them to automotive powertrain applications" Skills Preferred: "- Proven relevant experimental capability (cooling system and/or vehicle test) - Thermal system analysis experience eg: Flowmaster / GT Suite" Experience Required: "- Experience of the specification and design of automotive cooling systems - Expereience of vehicle attribute requirements - Delivery of complex technology projects, including planning / timing / budget" Education Required: - Educated to degree level in Automotive, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related discipline Additional Info: A full UK driving licence is preferred as some flexibility working at the Warwick University, Whitley and Gaydon sites may be required
