Job Title: Electrical Systems Engineer Job Type: Contract (55 weeks and 40 hours a week) Hourly Rate: £30 per hour Location: Gaydon Consultant: Alex Townsend Reference: 28404 The Organisation: The client is the largest automotive manufacturing business in the United Kingdom which produces premium all-terrain vehicles and premier luxury sports saloon vehicles. All the cars are engineered in the UK and the client has large ambitions for growth. The Role: "This role will be part of the team responsible for the Speech Control feature on future NGI Speech programmes. Working with these customer facing systems you will be responsible for : Validation of design for the speech functionality of JLR¿s Next Generation Infotainment systems including testing systems in several languages (prior knowledge of these languages is not required). Validating the customer interface and interface to the other features. Creation and delivery of detailed Design Verification Plans. Coordinating the resolution of AIMs / e-Trackers / Issues to achieve targetted glidepath to closure. Championing analysis and resolution of electrical PD issues impacting Business performance. Using problem solving tools as appropriate e.g. supporting G8d, 6 Panel events. The role will also share responsibility for all existing/legacy Jaguar Speech Control systems including supporting the Customer Response Centre and Dealer Technical Support when required. "

Experience And Skills

Skills Required: "Knowledge of vehicle based infotainment systems - essential. Experience of human interface (HMI) design - desirable. Experience of in vehicle speech control systems - desirable. Knowledge of FPDS / GPDS - desirable. Knowledge of PD toolsets (AIMS / WERS / E-tracker) - desirable. Capability of working in a pro-active and pressured environment - essential. Knowledge and application of quality and problem solving tools - essential. Ability to interact and communicate at all levels within the business, suppliers and customers- essential. ***A full UK driving license, sound diction and good hearing are essential for this role, due to the nature of the work. " Skills Preferred: Knowledge of Speech Control Systems Experience Required: "Proven project delivery performance - desirable. Ability to work individually or as part of a team - essential. Previous project management experience - essential" Education Preferred: Engineering Degree qualified or significant experience
