The client is the largest automotive manufacturing business in the United Kingdom which produces premium all-terrain vehicles and premier luxury sports saloon vehicles. All the cars are engineered in the UK and the client has large ambitions for growth.
Part of the Launch team for Powertrain, the position requires representing Powertrain for the Launch phase of this programme from VP build through to J1 +90. Role requires preparation for each build phase ensuring we have an agreed part, process and facility in place. Then principal responsibility is to monitor and resolve Powertrain launch issues in conjuction with our PT colleagues plus Launch and Manufacturing teams at Castle Bromwich. Key tasks include Build Support, Issue investigation & resolution at both a component & vehicle level including Field Issues Management, Launch Build support, PSW and parts management. The position is based at Solihull assembly plant, but also supporting Browns lane Pilot Plant during VP build phases.
Experience And Skills
Good overall Powertrain system knowledge. Understanding of quality methods for identifying and resolving issues. Ability to react, engage the necessary stakeholders and report back in a timely and structured fashion when problems arise. ¿ Computer literate in Google, PowerPoint, Excel and Microsoft Project. ¿ Valid UK driving licence ¿ Appraisal of vehicle attributes, eg. Driveability, NVH ¿ Ability to interface directly to the vehicle programme teams and represent the Powertrain Department ¿ Flexible, adaptable and excellent communicator ¿ Written / Oral
Experience in FMS (Field Management System) system. Fluent with Microsoft applications, especially Excel pivot table analysis. Powertrain diagnostics.
Experience of negotiating technical solutions that balance the needs of stakeholders with differing objectives. Understanding of steps required to get a component to a production ready standard. Experience of working in, or interacting closely with, a production environment, recognising the pressures and needs of manufacturing.
It is anticipated that applicants will be educated to a degree level in an engineering or automotive discipline. However candidates with significant Powertrain experience will also be considered.
